It’s Teatini Time

There’s only one afternoon in a day.  Cool, glad we can all agree on that.  Great things have been known to happen in that transitional grey area between lunch and dinner.  Afternoon delights, if you will.  Things like teatime.  And things like Happy Hour.  Separate yet equal in the realm of liquid recreational activities.   Both are well established.  Both pair great with friends and finger foods.  But up until now, we were forced to choose between these beverages.  Life is hard sometimes.  Well go ahead and scratch that off your list of tough decisions, because no longer are they mutually exclusive.  Magic happens when teatime meets happy hour.  And we say cheers to that.  The espresso martini and Irish coffee may have put their foot in the door, but Teatini is kicking the door wide open.  They’re creatively showing us what happens when you infuse a love of tea with a love of cocktails.  Don’t worry, you can still have finger foods.

What is Teatini you may be asking yourself.  It’s the Sydney-based sister act that’s putting the tea in dream team.  They’re on a mission to shake up traditional cocktails by reinvigorating delicious drinks at home with specialty teas that they personally love.   The thought behind this dynamic duo is that tea brewing and cocktail mixology are two art forms.  For the creator, it requires skill, patience, and passion.  For the consumer, it is about the aroma, taste and presentation.  For those who are both (hands up), each sip sparks a journey filled with stirring sensory experiences. Although both beverages have a certain charm in bringing people together, the pairing of tea with cocktails is largely unexplored.  Teatini is introducing us to this tealightful fusion.

They have been kind enough to whip up a special Kind Tribealicious recipe with an emphasis on ethical/sustainable/organic ingredients.  And, of course, something with bubbles (no brainer).  That definitely sounds like our kind of par-tea.  So we’re inviting you to imbibe with the Tribe and come oolong for the ride with Teatini.  Read on to learn more about the absolutely brewtiful teatini they’ve concocted for us to enjoy.

The Tea: Love Tea skillfully craft, blend and pack their products in Australia.  They collaborate with growers and small scale cooperatives around the world to fairly source organic ingredients.  Each product is designed to ensure optimum therapeutic benefit, exceptional flavour and minimal impact on the environment.  There’s a lot to love, Love Tea.

More specifically, Teatini has chosen a botanical blend of white tea, delicate flowers and naturally sweet goji berries. Individually hand gathered, white tea is renowned for its high antioxidant content, and has less caffeine than green tea. Hibiscus flowers, rose petals, and rose hips bring this beautiful blend to life.  Ok, solid starting point.

The Spirits: FAIR Ethical Wine & Spirits are an independent spirits brand, dedicated to high quality products that are sourced ethically and sustainably.  Their company believes that all the people involved, in every stage of the process, should be treated equally.  Hear, hear.

They’ve created, ready for this, quinoa vodka.  It’s been sourced from the Andean mountains, on the Altiplano plateau is over 3000m above sea level where the quinoa grows in fertile volcanic soil.  As you do.

Throw one of the most antioxidant-rich super foods into the mix and you’ve got their FAIR Goji Liqueur.

Superfoods meets super brewed.  Sip back and relax, it’s teatini time.
