A fleet of your favourite food trucks are all making hay in Rooty Hill for a festival aptly named Off The Eaten Truck Food Festival. That in and of itself would be a gold mine of food and beverage delights. But if there’s anything better than a food truck festival, it’s a food truck festival with a country western theme for a good cause. Which is what’s happening. Honestly, you couldn’t possible make this stuff up.
When you head off the beaten path and on to Off The Eaten Truck you’ll be forced to ponder life’s tough questions like how to hold all of the delicious plates of food from fan favourites like Mr Gee, Happy as Larry, Agape, Cantina Movil, Mama Linh’s and Knefah when you only have two hands. Pace yourself. There will be 40+ food trucks, live music and entertainment with, let us reiterate here, a laid back country vibe. The event is teaming up with the Bearded Bakers, and gold coin entry fee proceeds will go toward Movember. Because these guys and facial hair… yeah, duh.
You may find yourself in a food and wine induced haze, wearing a suspiciously large belt buckle, grapevining through the crowd and cordially tipping your hat to strangers while uttering phrases like, “This here pizza is finger lickin’ good ya’ll.”
Your heart will race, and you’ll wonder where you are and how you got there. But know that resistance is futile.
As the old saying goes: If there’s a fork in the road, find something to eat with it.
